Troy Tiberi, LMHC
I’m a licensed mental health counselor who provides therapy for adults experiencing symptoms from trauma, abuse, anxiety, grief, depression, and various relational concerns. I also work with clients to address trauma and abuse related to race, gender, religion, and sexuality.
My primary goal in therapy is to help you experience greater satisfaction and meaning in your life and to help you explore different parts of yourself with curiosity rather than judgment. I believe therapy leads to increased self-understanding, greater emotional awareness, increased emotional regulation, acceptance of yourself, and more satisfaction and connection in your relationships. Therapy is often difficult and painful, but therapeutic work is ultimately satisfying and hopeful.
My main therapeutic approach is relational and psychodynamic, but I also incorporate existential theories, attachment theory, object-relations theory, and somatic experience. When needed, I utilize EMDR when treating symptoms of trauma.

I’ve worked as the office manager of Upland Counseling Group since 2024. As the office manager, I’m the first person you’ll connect with when you contact our office. I can help you find the therapist to fit your needs at UCG, and I can help answer questions you have about billing or insurance. I hope I can make the logistical part of therapy as easy as possible for you.
When I’m not working I enjoy reading, volunteering as a board member of the Upland Public Library, watching my kids play sports or perform in theater, and spending time with friends.
